Build your own table saw and more!

The Weekend Warrior’s Workshop

Chris AKA CycleSurgeon is the man! He has put out my new favorite YouTube channel which is “The Weekend Warrior’s Workshop”.

You can get all of this guys plans at the Weekend Warrior’s Workshop website.

This guy will show those on a budget how you can assemble a fully outfitted wood shop with a minimal investment. I stumbled across this while looking on YouTube for a low budget way to replace the rip fence on my 1970′s era craftsman table saw. Not only did this guy have a simple design for a homemade rip fence, but he built the entire table saw! I’m definitely going to add a nice cross cut sled and new rip fence to my saw.

I hope everyone enjoys this find as much as I do. I can’t believe how few views these videos have gotten, this is truly a hidden gem!

I’ve embedded his current videos below or click here to go to his YouTube channel.

This is a great find! Every damn table saw I look at seem to be built like crap, including the Dewalts (and I love all my other Dewalt tools). I have found everything under 600 bucks to be wobbly, have crappy gates, etc.

Never even considered building one, at least the table would be rock solid if I did that.

Yes you can overbuild it as much as you would like. I need to write this guy and tell him to build a band saw and a scroll saw… pretty much all I need to round out the shop

    Hi Nick,
WOW I never have imagined anyone would say I’m “the man” over my knockoff saw table. Today’s response to the channel has been amazing and I can only credit it to your blog so thank you very much. Just as a quick heads up – this weekend I’m going to get back to work on the bike maintenance series.

    Thanks again for the exposure,

    Chris aka CycleSurgeon

I’m a huge mountain biker and will watch with rapt attention. Your shop reminds me of the $50 knife shop, same sort of attitude… LOVE IT

  • CycleSurgeon

I was a huge mountain biker (and shop owner) until I broke my neck in the Santa Monica Mountains in the mid-90s. After finally having my last surgery in 2001, my wife made most of my mountain bikes disappear. Now it’s mostly road bikes and one little old ’92 ParkPre Scepter Comp that just seems heavy as hell.

Hey all. Since so many here were good enough to subscribe to my youtube channel, I thought you might be interested to know that I’ve added a blog to the website http://www.weekendwarrior.20x.cc. I may be slow in posting new videos, but I always seem to have something brewing in the back of my head that needs commenting on. Of course SOS is my number 1 link. Hope you check it out and let me know if I’m being useful.

So, I accepted the fact that I would never taste those fabulous hot, garlic, dills again. Until, one morning, as I was reading the Sunday paper, I spotted a small article on “The Pickle Man Passes Away”. The old man’s daughter provided her father’s life story and to keep his memory alive, she included his best pickle recipes. She felt that he would want his pickles to continue being enjoyed.

    Hi y’all,
My original host shuttered the server so the Weekend Warrior page has been down for a bit.  I have brought it back up at http://www.weekendwarrior.net84.net.  When time and funds are available I will bring it to a more permanent home.  Thanks for watching my videos and thanks for the patience during the dry period.
